The Grampians Eco YHA accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen with organic herbs, free range eggs, vegetables and fruit for your use, subject to season and availability.
For environmental reasons there is no air conditioning at the hostel.
The staff was so friendly and helpful, it was such a nice stay there. And there are animals everywhere around the hostel.

Everyone was really friendly by sharing info about the walks around the area. Sam was kind enough to give me a lift to see the sunset which made my day. The owners are both extremely friendly and let me borrow a dvd to watch whilst I was waiting for ...

This hostel is offering a relaxing silence just as the surrounding nature and hills do. When the sun starts to set, heaps of kangaroos appear and allow you to experience them very closely.

I found the hostel to be up to the very good standard that I had been told it would be.The kitchen area was very clean and not wanting for anything.
The setting was great, surrounded by great forests and massive and interesting high rock formations...

Have stayed in this hostel for a number of years in February to attend the Grampians Jazz Festival. Would not stay anywhere else in Halls Gap. It is amazing how the building copes with hot weather. (40C plus on Sunday I think). Have already booke...

The Grampians Eco YHA in Halls Gap is a stylish, comfortable eco-hostel in the heart of the stunning Grampians National Park and only a short stroll to town. You can rock climb, abseil and explore the Grampians hiking trails, or simply relax in front of the hostel's wood heaters and spot the kangaroos out the back. The accommodation is powered by solar electricity and utilises green initiatives including solar hot water, rain water collection, recycled greywater and waste recycling to reduce their impact on the environment. Your hosts Beck and Stu are passionate about the region and will recommend various activities for you to do.

Family Rooms: To book a family room rate, there must be at least one child under 18 and 1-2 adults; otherwise this special room rate will be adjusted to the usual adult prices with the difference payable on arrival.
There is plenty to see and do in this rugged mountain range renowned for its breathtaking rocky views, rich culture and stunning wildflower displays. Visit Aboriginal rock art sites, spectacular lookouts and awe inspiring waterfalls. Or why not try bushwalking, rockclimbing, picnicking, bike riding, camping or fishing?
At dusk, see the kangaroos eating in front of your eyes on the hostel lawn. Nearby there are some excellent restaurants and don't forget the local pub. Or you could curl up by the fire with your fellow backpackers.
