  • Alice Springs YHA Backpackers Hostel is built within the grounds of an historic outdoor movie theatre, in a great location in the centre of this atmospheric outback town.

    The hostel has a big outdoor movie screen showing movies nightly under the stars.

    All hostel rooms are air conditioned, and there is a BBQ, swimming pool and tour desk offering a full range of discount backpacker tours to see the West MacDonnell Ranges, Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon.

    Family Rooms: To book a family room rate, there must be at least one child under 18 and 1-2 adults; otherwise this special room rate will be adjusted to the usual adult prices with the difference payable on arrival.

    Go camel riding and hot air ballooning.

    Enjoy outdoor movies at night on the hostel's big screen. Try one of several restaurants, including Bojangles or the Overlander Steakhouse, with menus that offer camel, emu, crocodile and kangaroo, among more traditional dishes. Backpackers who want to check-in back home should visit Bojangles, which has a live streaming webcam! Alternatively, grab some take-away and dine under a thousand stars!
