More or less saved me from going crazy when I was looking for a more long term living solution. Great atmosphere and a lot of friendly staff and other guests. I like this YHA better then YHA Central: the building is more intimate. The Hostel is close...

It's a very cute hostel but they've central air condition and during the night the rooms are too cold. It's the only one issue because for the rest it's a very beautiful structure.

It was a last minute stay, I don't usually stay at hostels, but I was on a budget, and only needed a room for the night.
I was pleasantly surprised. This place was so clean, easy and actually enjoyable. I'm sure if I stayed longer it would have bee...

At 50, you feel that you are excluded from a lot of things (people dont want to employ you etc) - so I was grateful I was welcome to stay with this predominantly young population. I stayed with my 16 y.o and 20 y.o old son, and I saw a few oldies li...

Sydney's most laid back hostel, Railway Square YHA adjoins Central Station and offers railway carriage rooms in the heart of Sydney.
Stay in one of the funky railway carriages on the former Platform Zero or one of the comfy rooms in the historic 1904 main building, now converted into contemporary accommodation. Hostel features a spa pool, Internet/WiFi, 24-hour access, tour desk, indoor and outdoor communal areas, self-catering kitchen. Walking distance to the best pubs in Sydney, Chinatown and Darling Harbour.
Railway Square YHA is within walking distance to most of Sydney's major attractions. Visit museums, get up close to stars, sharks or snakes at Darling Harbour's Madame Tussauds, Sea Life and Wild Life attractions. Saunter down to the historic Rocks district, climb the Harbour Bridge, visit the Sydney Opera House and Botanic Gardens, then enjoy a cruise by harbour ferry, catamaran or jet boat. Shop and cafe/bar hop in the trendy inner city suburb of Surry Hills, just behind Central Station.
Be seen at nearby Scubar, underground backpacker bar. Mix with the locals at one of Haymarket, Darlinghurst or Surry Hills' bars. Hit Oxford Street, or stroll down to Chinatown to soak up the atmosphere of the night markets (Fridays in summer). Try tapas in the Spanish Quarter (Corner George and Liverpool Streets). Sip cocktails by the water at Cockle Bay.
Using a shuttle bus is probably the best method of transport to the Sydney International airport if you have heavy luggage and do want to use escalators or steps. The price is about the same.
A full day of wine tasting (with lunch) in the Hunter Valley. Small group size, up to 6 wineries, and a very knowledgeble friendly guide!
Feel the adrenalin of catching your first wave and knowing that you've REALLY arrived in Australia.
