  • The yha is well-run overall, and is a great place to stay. The fireplace being on was lovely.

    Beautiful old building but with modern facilities. Huge common areas, with loads of couches and multiple fireplaces, very comfy to hang out in. Great location in the heart of Newcastle, 2 mins walk to beach or major public transport hubs.

    First of all, it's a beaultiful old house, that you feel imersive in a rural house. You can borrow for free surf boards, play ping pong, snooker and enjoy the free tea or coffee. The location is pretty amazing, close to everything in Newcastle.

  • Opposite Newcastle Beach, and right in the centre of town, this is a friendly YHA hostel with a difference and perfect for backpackers.

    Hostel accommodation is in twin/double and multi-share rooms. Internet, pool table, BBQ and modern hostel facilities. Access to hostel surfboards and free bodyboards. At the YHA, Monday is 'Backpacker Pizza Night' and Thursday is 'Free BBQ Night'. Free pub dinners Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday nights.
