  • Very clean and very friendly. Well laid out and not too noisy, near to everything but not enough to hear any bars. Excellent showers.

    A nice hostel, seems to be big but sadly lacking in the social interactions. Close to town and shops and only a 5-10 min walk to the beach. Nice areas at the hostel to relax. Not a rowdy hostel, good for quiet!

    This hostel far exceeded anything I expected. It is very pleasant and very well run. There are very basic rules in place that encourage mutual respect and general comfort for all who stay there. It had an atmosphere of lots of young people who were

  • Byron Bay YHA Backpackers Hostel is centrally located, only 400m from the beach. 

    The large comfortable common areas and kitchen overlook a swimming pool and BBQ. 

    The hostel has both dorm backpacker rooms and twin/double rooms with fans. 

    There are large decks to relax on and hostel surfboards and body boards are available. Backpackers can store the backpacks securely in the hostel locker room. Get great YHA member discounts on backpacker tours and activities at the hostel tour desk.

    Learn to surf, kayak with dolphins, go snorkelling (year round) or whale-watching (June-Nov) or take a backpacker daytrip into the hinterland, to hippie Nimbin! 

    We will show you the best local surfing spots and may even join you! 

    The Byron Bay YHA Backpackers Hostel has BBQ nights and pool competitions weekly.
